The qualifying times for 2008 have been posted on the Concept 2 website - please view them there.
In addition, we will have them posted on the day of the event.
The qualifying time standards are for U.S. & Canadian indoor rowers interested in qualifying for a trip to Boston for the 2008 World Indoor Rowing Championships (aka The C.R.A.S.H.-B. Sprints) in February 2008. The CRASH-B Sprints are not involved with this selection or qualification.
Concept2 provides the airfare for up to four competitors from each of the twenty official satellite regattas of the CRASH-Bs. Atlanta is one of those 20 regattas!
In the event that the Atlanta Erg Sprints has more than four qualifiers for the CRASH-B event, those selected for the trip is the decision of the satellite regatta organizers. Concept2 has no role in that decision process. The regatta organizers will first select at least one individual from each category represented by the qualifiers. If there are more than 4 events represented, then the individual with the largest margin of difference between their time and the qualifying time will be chosen. In the case that there are less than 4 events represented but more than 4 qualifiers, again, the participant with the largest margin of difference between their time and the qualifying time will be chosen.
The IIRA (International Indoor Rowing Association) rulebook states that the Lightweight classification is as follows:
Men 165 lbs/75 kgs and under
Women 135 lbs/61.4 kgs and under
